help what flash do i have?

help what flash do i have?

i called mazda dealer today and they ran my vin number and said it is up to date does that mean my flashes are up to date to.i can get the needle to swept back and forth.my car was built in 7-03 picked it up in march 05 with 2400 miles on it do you guys think it could be up to date.

call the service department again, ask them to tell you when your car was flashed.

ok thanks for answer when i talked to them it was like they didnt have a clue to what i was talking about. all they said it was recalled for airbag and something else plus hard starting? i dont want to wait for oil change thats another 1000 miles> i never had any problems yet why dont they keep track of flashes better seems more important than recall stuff or oil changes.they said i have to watch what i read on internet.

ah so they said something about hard starting. That's one of the things the new ECU flash is suppose to fix, so in fact they did apply the flash. They should still have records in their computer on WHEN they did it. Since they said it's up to date, it's at least the 'M' flash.

did you pick up a used 8 or a 'new' 8 that happens to have lots of test drive miles on it ??

the only way to know which flash is in it is to hook it up to a scanner and see, the service advisor handles dozens of people daily with a variety of different models plus most are not that technical, they aren't going to know much about specific Flash details, etc. other than what the Tech scribbled down on the service report
