Help!!! my 8 wont idle

I have been having idle issues for a while now, but it usually only happens on a hot day. Now it has gotten so that my car is not driveable. If im driving and i engage the clutch or shift into idle. my car will drop to 750 to idle, then the car will die. any other time i have my foot on the gas. the car runs fine. accelerates alright, no loss in power at any other rpm so i dont think it could be a seal problem. i do have a little vibration at anything below 1500 rpms. my car seems to be running very rich. i thought it might be an ignition problem so i bought the mazsport ignition solution replacing the wires, ignition coils, spark plugs, and i even replaced the maf. my current setup that could possibly reflect these problems are racingbeat intake with cold air duct, underdrive pulley kit, magnaflow catback exhaust, mazsport ignition solution, and a optima yellow top battery. i just installed the ignition solution today. when i started it the first time, it was fine, every time i engaged the clutch or shifted to neutral, it idled perfectly. but after i turned off the car and started it back up again a few minutes later. it wouldnt hold idle again. when i first I do have a small exhaust leak right behind my cat at the gasket. i have bought the gasket but havent fixed it yet. the only thing i can think of to replace next is the rear O2 sensor because ive heard that the sensor also controls the fuel trim for the idle. when i replaced my spark plugs, they were pretty bad but still looked operational but still showed that my car has been running too rich. I know that some people have had fuel trim problems that have changed the intake system, but never heard of anything as bad as it not even holding idle. please any ideas will be greatly appreciated. ive tried almost everything.

farfromsanity,

I had the same problem like this when I change out my coils (all 4 of them). I thought I had screw up somewhere along the line and now my car is acting up. I when and got 4 new spark plugs and wire set thinking they also need to be replace. To make a story short, the machenic that I took to prior to have my plugs change, on the front rotor, he install the leading plug in the trailing socket and the trailing plug in the leading socket. After I took them all out, replace them with new one and install in correct location, my enginge now ran smooth as a baby butt!!!

foo77 - Thanks for the idea, i will check the throttle body tomorrow and check for buildup.
Benh - I had this problem before i changed out the plugs. and when i was putting in the leading and trailing, i actually noticed that i had swapped the rear rotor's plugs. so i fixed them then double checked the front plugs to make sure they were alright too. the car runs perfectly fine at anything above 1500 rpms. its just rough below that and if i let off of the gas, it dies.

some things to try :
put stock intake back on
check for vacuum leaks - there is one line you disconnect to fit the RB intake - check it is plugged.
02 sensor - how to check ? scanguage not sure what you will see with a faulty one though .
oil in the intake - need a catch can if there is oil there .

Check your vacuum hoses and connectors for leaks. If it sucks air from the wrong places it may be conributing to the problem.

I just did my coils, plugs and leads and in the process discovered one of the vacuum hose fittings with a large hole in it. Now I don't know if replacing this or thecoils etc. has made it run smooth again.

after checking all spots for vacuum leaks. I ended up taking it to my mechanic. they ran diagnostics on it and found out that I had a P030 code which is under the mazda extended 04 warranty. so I took it to the dealership and now am getting a new engine under warranty.
