You can get OE clutch for 170 bux, including new disc, pp, TB, PB & pb seal, alignment tool, and small package of grease.

stock will hold up just fine. or you can talk to CRH like phil suggested.

TB means Throwout bearing - This is something that you want to replace everytime you drop your transmission. If you buy it off Mazda is about 35-40-ish bucks.

Yes, if u buy parts off Mazda dealer it will cost you around 400 something for Disc and PP alone. I think their 37 bux for something else is the TB.

Labor cost 672 is kinda expensive, I did mine at a pretty good place for 380 bux.

Also, you might want to order a Front and Rear Transmission seal, You should replace the Rear everytime u drop ur tranny just like TB, but if the Front seal is not leaking, leave it.

Nevermind, I just checked with that vendor, they dont have the Clutch kit that I've got anymore. Damn, it seems that I got a really great deal ! I should've got a few more o well.

You might want to Give CRH a pm, he can hook you up with a deal.

Or you can get it from here.

J, I don't replace the front seal on our trannies when I do a clutch swap. I don't even replace the rear seal, either. Then again, I have some tricks I employ with my methodologies.

BTW, Heli, the part numbers you are looking for on the Exedy stuff are
1) Factory Exedy clutch(1,455 lbs.); MZK1002, $385 from BHR.
2) Exedy Stage 1 clutch(1,895 lbs.); 10803A, $310 from BHR.

Stages 1 & 2 of anything will give you stock like feel. While stage 2s are ususally made of a all kevlar disc, meaning better wear, better cooling, better clamping.

Personally I would take the opportunity to do a lightweight flywheel and clutch upgrade.

So far with the two stories I have read about what your co-workers are telling you they aren't doing anything but giving you bad info.

Now, what was the original question again?
OK SORRY THAT PEOPLE ARE GIVING ME THEIR PEROSNEL ADVICE AND I DIDNT REALIZE THAT ASKING ON MY FORUM THAT A CO WORKER SAID" To Watch What I Install Unless I Plan On Doing More Upgrades To Withstand The New Aftermarket Clutch" WAS A BADSTAEMENT FROM HIM AND HAVING ME ASK ON MY FORUM ABOUT WHAT WILL HAVE TO BE TAKEN OUT TO INSTALL THE NEW CLUTCH WAS ANOTHER BAD REMARK..

ORIGINAL QUESTION: COST OF A CLUTCH?IS AN AFTERMARKET BAD CHOICE IF I DO NO OTHER UPGRADES?HOW HARD IS IT TO INSTALL ONE?HOW MANY OTHER COMPONETS WILL I HAVE TO REMOVE TO INSTALL?
