okay...1st post in this forum and i need help..pretty mad..i let my cousins take it out 2 pick stuff up and they bring it back with a check engine light on...im j/w wats going on?... my cousin told me that his brother tried being on some fast n furious type stuff and was reversein and popd it in about 1st gear or so and then the engine shut off..and it wudnt start for a couple of minutes...wat could be wrong?...i hope its not a transmission problem or osmething...i guess you can call me a noob..not sure what was going on

I think your cousin needs to learn a lesson... either have him pay for the repair or take it out of his hide!

You need to find out what tripped the CEL. Get the code read out; I hope it's something minor. BTW, the CEL only relates to the engine, fuel system, and emissions so it's not the transmission. Although he may have taken a few years off your clutch.

 

oh yea..j/w,,,,wud the warranty with mazda cover it?

 

Never mind the warranty. Does your cousin's brother have medical coverage?
