LOL... not a big deal.
If it were from my company, they would plaster the 'AB' logo everywhere.

I'm just a lurker watching this thread, but wouldn't Jon's suggestion of rewiring the TAIL (also labeled TNS in the wiring diagram) relay be the simplest method? Just remove the wire coming from the light switch, and connect to something that's hot when the ignition is on. That should all be in the fuse/relay panel. No parts to add, no need to get into the steering column. And the mods would be on the underside of the panel, where they would not be seen.

Foxxman - do you have the wiring diagram? If not, get the shop manual from Robin Yang's site. The TNS relay and DRL relay (and related parts) are on Page 5 of the electrical section.

you cant just starting hooking up random hot wires. but in this special case, where he only needs to do it for 15 minutes to pass an inspection...you could tap the ignition wire, and tap the parking light wire and hook them together...but ya better put a 10amp fuse inline. either way, i would never just jumper wires together in my car. its too risky. and do not disconnect the parking light switch wire. just tap it.

Who said anything about random wires? And what's less random about finding the right wires in the fuse panel, rather than digging into the steering column?

I suggest working in the fuse panel because the folks who contributed to the foglight DIY have identified all of the wires that are relevant. When Foxxman's DRL relay arrives, he's going to have to work there anyway.

Sorry - I was away for the weekend!

I really liked the relay idea, due to it somewhat isolating that circuit and not having to worry about crossing different circuit paths.

However, if I just cut and spliced the parking light switch, put an inline 10amp fuse to the IGN line, that would theoretically turn the parking lights on when the ign was on, does that sound correct?

Yes you can run a wire with an inline fuse from the ignition wire to the parking light switch wire. But keep in mind, you will be using the ignition wire to power the parking light switch wire. If you use a relay it will allow you to turn the relay on using the ignition wire, and using a seperate 12v wire to power the actual light switch. You can buy a relay like the one pictured above for pretty cheap at automotive store's I think. If you buy the same one pictured, you can use my wiring diagram. If you wanna pay for shipping, I can mail one of my relays and a few t-taps, and I'll wire up the relay before I send it. If ya want me to mail it, message me on google chat.

These are the t-taps I use. I don't buy them from this place, I just googled them. Gotta love google. They work good, just make sure they click closed all the way.
