hard to start when hot!
I am noticing that when I start and shiut off my car several times while taking short trips, it takes longe to crank the engine up. Sometimes it feels like it won't start at all. Mazda 14 points inspection always gices good rating for the battery. I have asked the dealership what is wrong, and they are saying to bring it in and they will check. but as I mentioned it happens when I start and shut off several times, hoiw will they check? Anyone else having this problems?

Me too sir I had this problem this summer. Arround 4 to 6 seconde before the engine fireing.
But I have never flooded my engine. It always finish to start. Mazda said it's normal.

There's a whole string of things they need to replace to fix that problem, whether or not they'll be willing to do it is another story. You need the updated battery, updated spark plugs, and updated starter. Mines only gave me updated spark plugs and sent me on my merry way, and I still have the issue of hard starts on hot days. I doubt I'll get my way so I'm just leaving it alone and living with it.
It helps if you try just turning the key to the On position and waiting about 15 seconds before cranking. Seems much more likely to get a smooth start that way.

15 seconds is a bit long though. 3 or 4 seconds should do the trick.
