Got my New Engine at 46K and great service at Rob Sight Mazda KCMO

Got my 8 back with the new engine today and I have to say that Rob Sight Mazda has the best service team I have ever dealt with during my Mazda ownership.

They fixed problems that other dealerships had botched the repairs on like my power steering light and malfunction that had been ongoing for over 2 years. They installed my new engine, replaced motor mounts, coils, plugs, starter, and battery. They also were kind enough to do a 4 wheel alignment on my car even though it's lowered and during all of these repairs Erik Davidson my service advisor kept in constant contact with me to let me know how everything was coming along.

How do they rate to other local Mazda service in Kansas City Metro...

Northtowne Mazda (where I bought the car) -
1. Installed a front license plate bracket on the car after I told them not to because KS cars don't require them. After I complained they removed the bracket by breaking the front bumper where it bolts in and not telling me about it.
2. Brought in for transmission failure of 2nd gear and whining in the rear diff at 45 mph decel. Replaced Trans and rear diff.
3. Replaced the rack, steering module, and PCM to fix the power steering issue, it was good for 2 weeks and then came back. While the car was in the shop they shut the hood with a wrench laying across the fender and damaged my car. They told me that it was something I did. They finally fixed it. Keep in mind that I have bought 4 cars from Northtowne auto group and sent them numerous referrals that have purchased. Since this experience I have not referred a single buyer their way, nor will I ever again.

Tumminia/Sunflower Mazda -
1. Brought in for lack of power and hard starts, loss of power steering, and ext temp display inop. The car sat for over a month while they tried to figure out what the issue was. During this time I told them on several occasions that there was a service message for the steering concern that involved repairing a wiring harness under the airbox area. They finally checked into the harness and repaired it but didn't follow the instructions of the TSB and used butt connectors instead of hard wiring the plug. This caused the steering wheel to jerk wildly at times while driving and lead to power steering failure yet again. They also failed to replace the plugs for my concern regarding hard start. They also did not fix the ext temp display, (a chafed wire leading to the sensor behind the bumper) which I tracked down and repaired myself. The service advisor told me that I was a ******* PAIN IN THE *** and that IT'S NOT HIS FAULT THAT THEY HAVE TO DRIVE MY CAR SO CAREFULLY BECAUSE IT IS LOWERED. (this is the same dealership that sells lowered MS Kitted cars on their lot and tried but failed to S/C a car).

Rob Sight Auto Plaza (Formerly Bob Sight Mazda) -
1. Called to schedule an appointment for the steering and recall. Got a follow up call to confirm the appointment the day before. Dropped the car off at 7:30 am and Erik drove the car with me to verify the concern regarding the steering. I had a loaner car in 10 minutes. 3 Hours later I got a follow up call stating that they had identified the problem with the steering failure and traced it to a botched repair done by Tumminia Mazda. At that time Erik told me that they would also be ordering an engine. They also installed the updated battery, plugs, and starter to remedy hard start concerns.
2. Engine arrived Monday of last week and I dropped the car off Thursday of last week. Asked for a 4 wheel alignment and SRS light repair (I smacked the car into a pole and had the SRS module replaced but not reprogrammed). They installed the new engine, replaced 2 engine mounts, installed new plug wires, new coils, aligned and reporgrammed the SRS module at no charge.

RED CARPET SERVICE from Rob Sight Auto Plaza. Thank you for a job well done and treating me with respect despite all of the other dealership's efforts. You guys are amazing.

The car feels great and after I get the new engine nice and broken in I'll see just how everything is. The bottom line is that if you are in the KC metro area and you're thinking of having your car serviced Rob Sight Auto Plaza is top notch. I've been in the car business for 12 years and I know how hard it is to operate a service department and keep everything in check.

The best way to get exceptional results is to hire exceptional people.

Thank you guys!

now its crap

So I bought my 06 shinka there, everything was great for a couple months, then Rob Sight sold out to Steve-Oliver. Now they carry less mazda's! They took the 40" LCD down and replaced it with a 20" tube! And the time I took it there they didn't even ask me if I wanted it washed?! Although I did see a 08 special edition with the red sand interior/grey outside. I like my copper red better.

So much for state line mazda dealer, Steve Oliver sucks!
