Got Milky Oil?
Oh No! Not another Synth vs. Dino thread!
Interested to see if there is any correlation to the "milky oil" phenomenon and use of conventional vs. synthetic oil, or perhaps a mixing/compatibility issue.
Please vote if you have experienced this with your RX-8 (milky oil or foam on the dipstick, filler cap, etc)
If more than 1 applies, check the most recent.

No place to vote for Conventional (no change yet) in the poll? I have milky factory oil. I'm sure that geographic location (ambient temperature) is a factor too - DC Metro Area
for me.

PS: I did not vote ...... until factory fill was added to the ballot .

I'm wondering if "milky oil" is a phenomenon happening ONLY within the dipstick tube. Heating / cooling of the tube causing a mix of condensation and oil . . causing the cream colored 'globby' stuff.
Which is to say . . "milky oil" is NOT a problem anywhere else in the engine.
While checking my oil level this morning, I was very surprised at the amount of milky stuff over the length of the dipstick, and initially very concerned about a glob of the stuff on the bent end of the dipstick. After thinking about it, I decided the stuff on the end of the dipstick was possibly 'scraped off' the inside wall of the dipstick tube when I removed the dipstick.
