OK first of all everything you do has an effect.. first law of physics: cannot create or destroy energy. everything around us is a form of energy. Please get that concept.

you take a cat off you pollute more but you use less fossil fuels which essentially is the same thing. you buy prius you not only look ghey, but you pollute the world with another 80-100 pounds of battery acid within the next 5-7 years.

There is no win we will all die eventually.. I say have some fun well your alive and stop worrying about **** that has no scientific proof. Co2 is not the leading greenhouse gas causing global warming.. the leading gas would be naturally occurring methane. we are on the verge of another era accept that please. all these dam hippy's want to blame everything on large corporations and media and humans for causing all the worlds problems..

I say shut the hell up and let me have some dam fun with my rotary.

sorry for getting a little out of control there no offense to anyone...

I love E = MC2

"you take a cat off you pollute more but you use less fossil fuels which essentially is the same thing: - again, nope. More toxic exhaust w/o the cat regardless of amount of usage.

Concur that if we suddenly all sell our present cars to buy new "green" ones we've actually contributed to greater use of fossil fuel in their manufacture.

It's great to have our fun, but we must temper it to a degree to provide a good environment for our children. They should be able to have some fun too.

so essentially your saying that the amount of fuel we use does not matter even though its a depleting source of energy that the world survives on. your solution is to reduce co2 emissions which has no direct correlation to anything except what the media dishes up every Monday morning?

I mean if we really want to reduce Co2 stop flying in airplanes and shipping things from la to nyc buy local.. thats where the real C02 emissions come from not a 1.3L beast.

P.S.I'm not intending to argue, just debating since i have nothing else to do in my office chair.

Exactly, well said. That's exactly what I was saying in a less factual way

I haven't discussed CO2 at all, other than to back Stealth's comment. My beef is the increased exhaust toxicity w/o a cat, period. Debating is fine, just so long as we stay on the same topic.

The better question is. How much damage could be prevented in those 60 miles a month?

I believe that a bunch of small things make a big difference. If believing you should run with a cat makes me a Hippy, well I've got some really good Hippy weed I won't sell to you.

I'm forty miles from the nearest traffic light.......

+1 I'm in Vegas where the construction pollute more than the cars do. We have Sun sets just like California

too late! Acid rain has ruined my crop this year! if only you had your cat on earlier, they would have sucked up all that carbon dioxide and grown big and strong.

sarcasm/hahaha all you 2006 cat-less guys lose out on giving your car to Boshart Engineering for 7-10 days for emissions testing and a sweet $150, hahahaha! LINK/end sarcasm

See, it's pretty irrelevant for me, as well. I live 3 blocks from the atlantic, and all the wind blows that way, 99% of the time. All my exhaust goes into the ocean, which is basically a giant sink for CO2 and bad emissions. I don't care about CO2, regardless, because the world is now hell bent against it, so it will be taken care of in some scientific way, but the NOx's are bad. Look it up online what the damage done by smog and acid rain is. It's really bad. But, again, being that I live by the ocean, all the acid rain gets diluted in the GIANT F*ing puddle, so that's my excuse.

The real reason I have for not running a cat? 20-30% better gas mileage from the AP, which would destroy any cat from running lean. The savings in gas mileage make up a decent amount of $ in my pocket, making it more affordable for me to drive the car that I love. Also, by removing the cat, I'm saving it from destruction due to AP, thus preventing me from buying more cats, and preventing all the bad stuff from going into the air @ the factory the cat is made at, which, I'm assuming, ISN'T 3 blocks away from the atlantic, and thus the acid rain falls on someone's property, not the giant f*ing puddle.

Do what you want. Just don't make it rain acid on me. And I don't care what any of you say, the ocean can handle a LOT of pollution. Hell, there are species in the ocean that EAT pollution!!!

thats right, F#%K THE FISH!

http://www.physorg.com/news112248742.html

everything you do on this world has an impact. and mysql, you are right, the sun provides most of our heat. (geothermal would exist without the sun.) however, the sun's heat would be lost immediately if it werent for out atmosphere.

ever wonder why there is no grass on the moon? thats the reason. and yes i know you know.

change the chemical composition of the atmosphere and you change its heat retention capabilities. this is basic high school chemistry.

im not saying run catless (i have no ground to stand on right now) but i am saying you are a bit foolish to think your actions have no impact. look at the garbage pile in the pacific ocean. thats a lot of, "this one bottle wont impact the environment," thinking.

I can't remember exactly, but it's for the second o2 sensor. I put a de or nonfowler in to helpp prevent this but I think I did it too late and had already ruined my o2 sensor......

Oh and flames are fun, even in the daytime. At night if im ripping through back roads I can see the flash beside me lighting up the countryside. Still have to fix my exhaust leak though....lol damn gasket.

As has been stated, cats are not about global warming - they are about lung cancer & acid rain. No BS there.

Spend some time in Shanghai or Beijing (or even Rome) and you will be happy that cats are obligitory here. At least, I am.
