getttin dyno'd today
Well, I finally got around to setting up an appointment to get my car dyno'd today, as I want to get a baseline number before I start doing some power adders (I should be recieving my AEM cai next week.) I am also going to be using Hymee's scanalyser so I can also get an idea of airflow and other things going on.
I will post results here later on.

soooooooooooooooooooo mad!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
well, i am not sure what is going on, and i am very not happy with the numbers i put down.
to begin with, i have an 04 gt, bone stock, with 18k on the clock. i wanted to get some baseline numbers so i could get an idea of what each mod does for me. my first mod being the aem cai. as to flash, it is either p or r, not sure exactly as the service writer couldnt read the tech's handwriting, and i am not too worried about it as i am going to get reflashed next week with the first recall. (heat)
now, the shop i went to is car version 2.0, in wilmington, de, and they are a reputable shop, and one of my really good friends works there part time.
well, just as i get there, they are pulling out the civic hatch that they just dyno'd and had me pull in, and proceed to do set up (using a dyno pac). get me all set up, i make sure that dsc is disabled (press and hold for like 10 secs, make sure front wheels are straight) and off we go.
now granted, temp was pretty high, with a relatively high humidity as well. im not sure about humidity, but temp was about 100. now, i will let the numbers speak for themselves, but i seriously think something was way wront, as the n/a civic that was in before me posted about 160 hp.

hmmm, might be a possibility, but i havent really noticed a lack of performance, i can still chirp 3rd on command, though if i remember correctly, they are vacuum actuated and they did have to hook up a vacuum line for the dyno pull

that's a weird-looking power curve if I've seen one...
What gear did you run the dyno? Can't be that your torque curve ran downward with the engine rev???

i am pretty sure their dyno isnt f'd up, as they had just got done doing a couple pulls for an eg civic hatch that had a swap done, n/a, and that made like 160 to the wheels, either something wasnt hooked up right, calibrated right, or i have an issue with my motor. i am pretty sure i do not have an issue with my motor (at least as big as this would make it seem) as that same day i chirped 3rd with the ac running.
i gotta sit down with my friend, as he is a master mechanic for lexus, plus works there part time, and has a 350+ hp turbo eg civic and is going to be putting a full race kit on the car. i am sure that he will help me figure out what went on, and get me a much better price on subsequent dyno pulls.

very strange, but doesnt look like the power band from the dyno when the DSC is on, so it looks like its not the tcs/dsc problem they had with the early dynos..... very strange indeed. Did you get a wideband reading from this dyno...and what gear? Sounds like the car is running fine but the dyno just wasnt reading it correctly...almost seems like its off by 100hp

what was this vauum hose they hooked up? they obviously did not dyno you vehicle correctly. do they have the raw data and also how did they get the rpm. i bet they had it set up incorrectly. see they get the ingition signal and then they have the software turn that into rpm. but they have to use the correct math. they probably used the math from the civic pull which would not be correct.
its a dyno not using the correct calibration for a rotary.

first thought was its didn't get the right rpms... but the scale looks convincing
So either the load cell malfunction or perhaps you have the latest R flash and the some protection scheme in it makes the car dyno proof?

i know the dynapack bolts to the hubs and uses hydraulic fluid pressure to impose a load on the drivetrain and measure power. It should be a little higher since your not losing power to rotating the wheels and tires. That fits along with my guess that its off by 100hp even more. although thats just a guess, there is no scientific reason i think its off by 100hp..lol

thanks zoom. mucho appreciated. i was also logging data through hymee's scanalyser, though i havent really looked over it too much. i can send you the entire log if that may help determine what is going on
