Gearbox Noise changing into 2nd

Does anyone else get a noise when changing into second and speeds higher than 9mph?

Sounds like a syncro spinning up. Gear change is still smooth and crunch free but this noise is annoying me.

No noise when cold, worse the hotter and longer I have been driving

I did read some posts about people using short shifters having more noise. I dont have a short shifter but I do have an illuminated gear ****.
I beleve the noise got louder after fitting it. I have checked the fitting and all the insulators are still in place asuming they are there to cancel out transfered noise from the gearbox.

I was thinking of changing the gearbox oil to Redline MT90

Thoughts anyone???

I seem to recall a few threads reporting the same thing as a known issue. Do a search and read them.

I switched to Royal Purple and could not believe the difference it made in the noise level coming from the transmission. I didn't realize it was that noisy until after the oil change.

Hi Go48, I did search this problem but could only find topics relating to either noise when in Neutral or transmission noise after changing to a short shifter.

Maybe I was searching the wrong keyword - Perhaps you can help me find the topic please

it's normal (in the sense that everyone has it)...it's a million times louder with the AFE short shifter installed, since it eliminates the factory damper.

Good choice! I changed my fluid to MT90 and it was a huge difference for the tranny noise. Not only that, the tranny shifts like it's suspended in butter... mmmmm... butter...
