The little orange low gas light came on at 180 miles and then went off. When I hit 200 miles it came back on. Is this normal

 

Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is your gas near empty? 200 miles sounds about right for a tank of gas. The little blip at 180 may have just been the fuel sloshing around in the tank.

 

Yes I was near empty but everytime before when the light came on it stayed on. So you think its nothing to worry about

 

If your sloshing it might turn on, a hard corner or something will turn it on.

 

On my mazda626, it happens all the time when getting close to empty. Usually when I brake going downhill. It will flash on then off when I level off. If I don't fill it up, it will come on for good once it gets low enough.

So I wouldn't worry about it unless you aren't getting close to empty.
