almost $1k for 1 - 2 hp? Im not sure is that to the crank or the wheels, but that seems rather low to me, although I think the autoexe exhaust sounds the best so far. Another one of those mazdaspeed "sound" exhaust?

I asked japanparts.com, and they told me only 1 -2 hp gain. thats really a shame, such a nice exhaust note.

 

Perhaps that 1-2HP gain just shows the length that Mazda went to to eak all there is from an exhaust design standpoint, while maintaining world noise limit restrictions. Kinda makes me feel happy they DIDN'T come up with more!

 

Well, is that 1-2 hp increase to peak hp, or is that the range of the gain? Big difference between the two.

 

Yea I talked to Dave of Mazdatrix at the BBQ last month about
the Racing Beat prototype exhaust. He indicated that most
of the designs they had tested showed only minor power gains.
Only real before and after dynos will tell the true story, but I thought that Borla was claiming 8 hp gains.

 

Borla has been claiming 8hp gains, and I am sure much less with an Automatic. Not sure if $600 plus would be worth it...

 

in a jap magazine they stated they gained 11 hp on a dyno???on auto exe or another exhaust.
