Dear you have face many problems when you use this.

Injector windings don't lift pintle, seized pintle, or slow pintle cycling.

It happens due to this reason .
injector coil windings overheated from cooling system failure or ignition failure, with windings losing their magnetic performance; open (broken) windings; shorted (grounded) windings; seized pintle from internal injector corrosion

Hey guys I'm thinking one of my injectors is sticking open leading to a flooded condition on a cold start. What is the best way to clean them? Also what's my best bet for determining if one or more is bad?

I'm bumping this for this info Team posted, I must have missed it amongst the banter. The first post needs to be modified because the info is not accurate. I have found the same info as Team when searching and from what I have seen used injectors flow at, the yellows flow quite a bit more than listed in the first post. For our application we should be looking at what they flow at 4 Bar (roughly 58psi where the RX-8 operates).

This is what I have found from a couple of sources that use these Denso 195500-4450 injectors in Turbo Miatas, Toyotas, and some other platforms.

They are officially listed by Denso at 425cc @3bar/43.5psi

But tests of new injectors have shown rates of:

425-450cc/min @ 3bar/43.5psi & 500-524cc/min @ 4 bar/58.8psi

This is very important if you are tuning using Cobb's formula for determining your injector bank sizes. I have heard and read a few different numbers in terms of what the flow rates are of different stock injectors. I have also found that if you get injectors cleaned and tested, make sure you know the method they are using to do it because how they do effects the numbers. Most I have seen don't test them at 60psi.

524cc/min at 4 bar

Resistance: 11.8-16.5 Ohms

Voltage: 8-15 Volts, Nominal 13.5 Volts

Amperage: 1.0 Amps

Pressure: Min. 36 PSI (2.5 bar), Max. 101 PSI (7 bar)

Fuel Rail 1 (two injectors)
Both leads for this fuel rail come off of the main harness together.
Front rotor injector wire color is light-green and red. (Front Primary 1)
Front injector Wire lead has White colored tape

Rear rotor injector wire color is light-green and black. (Rear Primary 1)
Rear injector Wire lead has Tan colored tape.

Fuel Rail 2 (four injectors)
The two center (the middle) injector wires come off the harness together and split.
Front side of the middle split has Yellow colored tape.
Rear side of the middle split has Green colored tape.
The two end (front and rear) injector wires come off the harness separately and have no colored tape.

The front injector wire is Green and Red. (Front Secondary)
The front rotor middle injector wire is Black and Blue. (Front Primary 2)
The rear rotor middle injector wire is White and Green. (Rear Primary 2)
The rear injector wire is Black and Blue. (Rear Secondary)

Yeah it varies, there really is no rhyme or reason to why some are different. We just did an 05' not too long ago that matched that ^ exactly. But some the wires on another harness we have on hand was different. Everything is properly labeled now when we do it, it's not worth the hassle.

i had to change the whole wiring harness on my car cause the wiring on the donor engine i put in it was no good. kind of wish the dude who sold me the engine would have told me so i would have done the wire swap when the engine was out. finally got it running like a champ today.

its a good day in rotary world

I just got these in for a friends low mount turbo build, we are going to have them tested locally to insure they flow 1000cc and then he will decide if he wants to run them.

I run custom yellows (555 cc/min at 4.0 bar) in the secondaries that I purchased from them a while back. But I will go with ID's when I got top mount and Adaptronic.

Does anyone know when the injectors are supposed to "come online", in terms of RPM and load? for example, when troubleshooting injector issues with an oscilloscope according to mazda FSM, it states that primaries (FP1/RP1) will be on at idle, secondaries (FS/RS) can be observed above 5,000 when racing the engine, and the second pair of primaries (FP2/RP2) can be observed above 6,250 when racing the engine.

FUEL INJECTOR INSPECTION

I ask because my AFR takes an extreme dip towards 11:1 or richer right as 5,500 rpms is passed.

Your VFAD opens at 5500, it is likely due to that. But usually it leans out when the various intake valves open, not richen up. But I have not had a stock intake in years so who knows.

I just looked at couple of stock dyno graphs and it doesn't look like the VFAD opening affects AFR's at all, just the VDI and SSV.

I was going to say, I thought the VFAD was just for changing the intake sound and did nothing for performance.

Well it allows more air in so it is for performance, I just don't think the gains it adds are noticeable.

This Thread with Fuel Injectors pinout to ECU pinout should be crosslinked. It would be good to have the images on the first page of this thread.

I have red and blue injectors on my stock engine. I am having high rpm hesitation. Could this be due to over fuelling? I suspect that the blue injectors could be overwhelming the spark and causing the engine to loose power. This happens at around 7000rpm.

My next step is to install the yellow injectors to see if the problem gets resolved

It would have to be tuned for those, but the one way to be sure is to log or observe AFR

Rx8 r3

Hello,

Sorry for my english....i live in France.

Could you tell me, what is the injectors flow of a 2010 RX8 R3? I know there are 4 injectors, 2 green and 2 dark red by cons I found nothing about their flow.

Do you Think that they are enough for a conversion E85 (Ethanol)

thank you
