fuel filter canister help

anyone know how to take the back seats out having trouble in the past hours trying to change my fuel filter i heard its under the back seat in the left hand

You can't change the filter anyway... it is integrated into the fuel pump assembly...

you also will need a special tool to get the retaining ring off easily...otherwise you will likely break it and have to get a new one

It is true that the canister has a built in fuel filter inside the inner housing however the RX8 also uses a sock filter like most modern cars that attaches to the bottom of the pump inside the outer housing. This is something that can be easily changed. I would recomend calling BHR for a new fuel pump and change that at the same time if you have it all apart.

FYI, Charles... I spoke to you a long time ago about using the aeromotive pump as well. To be honest it is overkill and just pumps more fuel through the regulator. Ultimatly it was just heating up the fuel for no reason.

so whomever reads this in the future stick to the Walbro and call BHR or use a 2009... just keep in mind the 2009 version is NOT plug and play and requires fittings and wiring changes.
