flip key and trunk release

My 2005 flip key trunk release takes only a quick press to open the trunk, sooooo, when it's in my pocket, quite often the trunk opens inadvertently and when the car is locked or I lock it after, nothing tells me the trunk is open. I have had several discharged battery occassions because of this if I take the other car to work for a few days.

With most flip keys, you have to hold the trunk release for a couple of seconds to open the trunk...............

Can the flip key for an 05 be reprogramed to create a hold down time on the trunk release button????????????????

Thanks

Mine has the delay feature you refer to but I don't think it's a programing issue. What will work is disabling the electric trunk release using the switch in glove box. Only downside to that is you can only open the trunk with your key.

Is yours an 06? They must have that feature on newer year flip keys like yours. I could always pick up one on ebay and program it to mine since I do have two original keys.

Thanks

There was a bulletin. Lucky I remembered.....it looks like you'll be able to just replace the remote. Check your vin against the bulletin.
