Well, while we are on the "exhaust" dicussion. I remember reading something like this while searching for info on exhaust.
---- We all know about this heated center cup holder "feature" on our loved RX8. I have learn to deal with and enjoying this feature very much in the winter. I have read a few post about going with aftermarket exhaust i.e. Mazdaspeed or Racing Beat, will alleviate a lot of heat. Is that true or just a joke?

well.. if u just get an exhaust such as a greddy sp2, or borla or racing beat or magnaflow etc.. they are all the same in terms of HP gains.. +-1/2 hp give or take u know? i go by looks and sound.. unless.. u were doing a full exhaust change.... downpipe, midpipe etc.. then u would see some nice gains..

Exhaust can affect performance, though it's mainly through weight savings.

Oh ok thanks. So does anyone know if this is true? or a joke? I read this in other threads. Having an aftermarket exhaust like Mazdaspeed or Racing Beat etc... will alleviate a lot of the heat in the center cup holder?

Yeah if you want to make your cup holders less hot, put some synthetic lube in your transmission. Cools it down quite a bit.
