In short : No, you can't.

you need way more than just the TB and ECU. Its just not worth it.

Why would you want Drive by Wire system? Its only here so "stability control" kind of system will work.

 

That and the redundancies now built into the drive-by-wire system.

I have an RX-8. I'm doing 20b swap with Rx7 throttle body. I want to keep using the rx-8 electronic throttle control instead of using the throttle cable. I no longer have all my rx8 stuff, so I wanted to ask whether electronic throttle control on rx8 can be easily adapted to the rx7 throttle body.

Nope you can't use it, worthless piece of plastic. Get a pedal from a 2nd generation rx7, drill a hole and DO IT, DO IT.

 

What ever you do... don't get a TB assembly from Toyota.
