ECU reflash

currently my 8 is getting rebuilt. i am also getting a streetport done to it and going to get headers added too. the mods for engine wise is RB intake, exhaust, midpipe headers (soon). I know Mazdamaniac has been banned. do you guys think its worth it to try and order a AP with his tune through it. or should i send my ECU to Racing beat for reflash? i do have a local Cobb tuner that i might consider after i talk to him. i am leaning towards the AP more because its a handy tool to have around. but the price of the RB reflash is also tempting. any suggestions

thanks in Advance

If you're getting it ported, I'd go with MazdaManiac. The RacingBeat solution is a one size fits all, you might not get the most out of it. If you do future mods you get to retune with the AP too.

To be honest, RB flash isn't all that bad, especially their Stage 2/3 Flash.

it will give u 90% of what you need, if you need the last 10%, go ahead and have someone tune it, but does it worth it?

we're talking about less than couple hp extra on a good day

I think the RB flash fits 90 % of the rx8 owners

Do you know anyone who has openport and mazdaedit ? Your mechanic for example ? I think that that route would be the best. Especially when you'd have access to dyno. That how mine RX8 was tuned - live on the dyno. All that generic tunes aren't ideal and might cause some problems sometimes.
I see that you live in US so there should be more mechanics and tuners for RX8 isn't it?

You don't need an Adaptronic. Hopefully your shop doesn't try to sell you one for such minimalist mods.

no the owner hasnt tried to sell me one, he understand it would be pointless to even get a adaptronic ecu for really minimal mods....
