Just got done reading the "where did my ambient temp go" and read about the auto temp control or what ever it was and it got me thinking I have see on my mid dash read out "Eco drive" did the 8 ever come out with this and if not what was the point of add this to the already cluttered read out?

 

That isn't on a stock 8, do you have an aftermarket head unit? Several kits allow you to change what is displayed there at different times.

 

I must because its there just no function for it it got the 6 disk in dash changer with some X-car adapter under the center console that did have a I- phone and I-pod hook up with a built in ear phone and mic. Some chick owned it befor me I figuered this out when changing the clutch out I found a couple of red painted glue on finger nails under the shifter. BTW it has the BOSE system in it.

 

There is a "ECO Drive" light at the center console, its not enabled on the USDM RX-8 because there is no Automatic Climate Control, fan speed indicator is also disabled for obvious reasons.

on other models that has it, when you adjust the temp to 22 Celsius or higher, the "ECO DRIVE" light will come on, it just tells ya that "oh yeah, you are not just blasting A/C to the coldest setting"

Most JDM model has it, including the 8 I have Overseas.

 

Cool nice to know I have wondered about that ever sense I got it three years ago.
