What are you high HP (400+) guys breaking on the Rx8? I see plenty of 600+hp Rx7's doing insane launches on slicks with them and they seem to be holding up well (may be heavily modded idk). I am just trying to see whats going to be the main issue...transmission, clutch, axles, or the differential.

 

The transmission is made of glass...the syncros suck...

Nah, I dont recall any with the renesis, I am sure there are some real close though. I have seen a few claims of 400+ but thats about it on the renesis.

 

I think the first thing that "snap" is the rear axle or something.

CRH on this forum sells an "upgraded" one thats suppose to be able to handle 800+ hp. but of course no one can get close to that (on Renesis yet), couple of PR guys got some 20B in their rx-8, forgot they're pushing it tho (hp wise)

 

no 400+ rx8 have been seen yet..

as to the auto trans ? if you have to ask, you need to read a bit more..

i will give you a hint the auto only revs to 7500 rpm.

i don't think those 600hp rx-7 run stock tranny. One tends to forget that lots of internals need to be changed to accomodate such hp. Unless you have a Veyron.

I wasnt planning on swapping a 400+hp engine and 6sp for a stock renesis 4port and auto. Sometimes automatics will handle more HP than the manual in the same car, the manuals take a beating where the automatics dont.
