Call Summit to find out.
I'm sure it will butt..

You probably need a new pump as your going to need more pressure.

besides filtering is not a problem with the 8.

Even Summit can't tell you that.

All they can say is it needs a certain amount of pressure, then you need to figure out if the 8 can handle that.

Sounds like this is not a task for you.

you dont need a double filter, just get a filter relocation kit. if your really that worried put a magnet on it. summit makes two. one is 75lbs of pull the other is 150lbs of pull both work just fine. oil filters only filter about 20% of the oil passing through anyways.

The point isn't whether or not it helps, its that without a modified pump it could hurt

They make kits where the 2nd filter is a "bypass filter" A small percentage of the oil goes through a separate filter with much higher filtration which removes the smaller contaminants over time. That might not require additional pressure... No idea whether they're worthwhile or not, but sounds like a reasonable idea.

Save your money. Filtration is a non issue with the 8.

Not quite correct, that is why Mazda increased the size of the S2 Oil Filter by about 20%, first time in over 25 years they have changed OEM Oil Filter to larger.

Having said that OP...

Leave the bloody Oil Filter alone, forget that double oil filter crap thing, just because it looks good does not mean it is necessary and will work..
And YES unless you "review" your engine Oil Pressure System with a few upgrades You are and will be doing more harm than good as Oil Pressure IS an Issue with Series 1's.

So, if you want to do your 8 a favour Spend the Money on changing your OIL and OEM Filter more often...far better for your car than this Jerk off BS...
