Doing plugs & coils.. with a question

I am going to be replacing my plugs and coils tomorrow. I dont have the wires yet and am wondering whether or not its a big deal if i replace the wires a week after i do the plugs & coils. I dont realy want to wait long to do the plugs & coils because i am having a lot of random misfires and i dont want to blow another cat.

You don't need to replace your wires unless it shows a sign of wear (corrosion) or it has reach like 60K miles.

Stock OEM wires are excellent.

another question on this... could it be something just as simple as changing the air filter. Because one of the causes for the misfire could be a bad air/fuel ratio.

How long since you changed the air filter?

Filter has to be pretty grungy to cause problems by itself, but it can contribute sooner if other stuff is off.

Just change it anyway(air filter).
Buy some MAF cleaner and clean that too!
Make an afternoon out of the whole thing.

Oh and not a big deal on the wires to do a week later, and to tell the truth, if in good shape they aren't really required to change, but what the hell.

well i changed out the coils and plugs... but on the last coil when i was putting the nut back on, the bolt snapped. So im guessing the only fix is to drill the bolt out and replace it. Am I correct?

Thats why I'm asking. Can't I saw the bolt off at the base of that and then drill it out and replace that with an actual bolt?

The bracket is $25 from Mazda, part number N3H118105.
Alternately yes you can just drill it out and fit an adequate replacement.
I've broken the same bolt before.. those studs are really cheap (quality).

The bolt just sheared with no pressure. the nut was only halfway to where it needed to be and was still gliding rather smoothly.
