Does anyone know (where to buy an engine)
Does anyone know of a good reliable website that sells motors? I have a rx-8 and I blew my engine. I am looking to do a 13b single or twin turbo swap. I have tranny and I need wiring and ECU. I have been looking around a bit but I want something with a warranty. Maybe someone can help me out, Thanks!

I'm not sure about rx7store.net but i saw that they do have 20b's that they buy from other places and inspects it? As well as 13brew's.
Hopefully this helps.

Thanks I will take a look. I been seeing the single turbos for like $1100-$1400 and the twin turbo for like $1500-$1900. I would feel much better if I found a site that people has actually bough from and could say everything was okay

Sorry i couldn't be more help. You might also want to check out the rx7club.com as they may have way more information of rebuilt engines and where to buy it from.

OP. It is unlikely you will be able to purchase either of the motors you speak of and drop it in and expect it to last without rebuilding them, no way in heck will you find a rebuilt motor with warranty on the cheap. The swap you intend is going to cost on the vicinity of 10k.IMO

/\ Yep, IMO I would go with an easier ''RENESIS'' drop in from Paul @ Mazmart .
Turbo conversions and or 13B REW requires a lot of changing parts and money.

i don't know of a single importer that will warranty any RX7 engine and probably as well a used renesis. get a video of the shop doing a compression test on the engine before even considering buying one.
and if you do find an imported early engine you should have it rebuilt. even if you do have it rebuilt most rebuilders will not warranty a modified setup, it has to be either stock or installed and tuned by that shop to be warrantied.
then you have the additional parts necessary to make it work and or make more power than stock. in the end you're looking at $7500-15,000 for most 2 rotor turbo swaps and even higher for a 3 rotor. there isn't much point installing a stock 13B-REW over the renesis, you will be paying $5k+ for a rather narrow performance increase(if you can even make it work properly).
these engines are fragile, especially when you have inexperienced installers with a big turbo bolted to the side. BUT you do have the right idea, the renesis is not the best engine for forced induction when compared to the earlier turbo rotary engines(which were designed to use a turbo, lower compression and peripheral ported). you will be hard pressed to get much more performance out of the stock renesis than it already came with.

I own a 13b renesis already and it is ported and boosted. It is maxed out with 8lbs of post and the port. I done some research and I found that a single turbo with a downpipe and exhaust and a tune running at 13lbs will get me to about 302wheelHP. I just cant find a motor

the early engines can make WAYYY more power than that, depending on which turbo you wind up using. most renesis engines making anything worth mentioning over 300whp are running AI or alcohol fuels.
