Thumbs down Display Malfunction

Hello Everyone,

So here is the deal,
I was driving my car yesterday in the hot weather. Turned it off for a while then got back in only to find that the radio/temp/time display wasn't working. It came on after a few minutes but now when I go over bumbs in the road it goes off and on again. The radio never goes out and the time is still the same I just see nothing on the display for a second or two.

Has anybody else had this problem? I'm thinking it's a lose wire or heat related issue. I ran a search but nobody had a problem exactly like this.

The dealer already told me it could be pricey to fix. So any suggestions would help greatly. I have already tried unplugging the battery and resetting the ECU.

This was not uncommon in the RX-7's.
It was almost always the harness to circuit board connection or the circuit board's connector solder joints.

my display stop working completely after a car wash last week, the radio and all other functions continue to work properly.
i haven't had time to drop by the dealership yet, but what surprises me is this isn't covered under warranty?

it's covered under warranty if you still have it

about a year and a half ago mine was making all kinds of crazy symbols on the display, they ended up changing, the wire to the display, the display itself, the radio, and finally the cd player to finally fix it. All work was done under warranty

ok. So I took it to the dealer and found it it was just a few lose wires. It only costed 89bucks to fix. I was very happy about that. But i think the wires may have come off due to the old engine mounts. I will get that replaced if needed. Also I'm getting them to install that PCV value as I have had oil in the air box and don't want it to let to other issues.
