Disconnected Hose? Help
Have a used 2005 AT w/ 11k miles - had it about 6 weeks. (AT, I know, I know - already saving for my trade). Anyway, doing my basic oil and fluid check and notice a completely loose tube. I mean bouncing around, connected to nothing.
I can see where I think it is supposed to go, but it ain't staying in there (partially melted). What is it and how urgent?
Very front left of engine area, just to the left and below engine coolant and in front of battery.

No biggie.....
Not too important - there are two little intakes like that, one cools the battery and the other cools the computer. Even disconnected, the cold air from the high pressure area in front of the radiator will move around these boxes.

Thanks,
Thanks for a quick answer - just hoping to get past the holidays without having to fix
So it can wait a week or two? Top temps around here should be about 70.

No problem if you drive, the faster the better!
Its not irony, its allows fresh air moving around battery according to Mazda service manual.
But to be serious, actually this is first car with my experience having ducts to cool battery! All batteries most cars works well in engine area even with my Mits Eclipse where exhaust pipes didn't covered at all!

the earlier versions of the cars didn't even have these ducts like my 2004. I haven't ever heard of someone having problems with hot battery or computer temps. Maybe it has something to do with it being auto, but i would think it wouldn't be something to worry about right away especially with it being winter.

Thanks all,
Overheating a battery in this weather doesn't really sound like something I have to do on Christmas weekend. The PCM does worry me a bit - have heard it could be either, and would hate to fry that. Anyone know the location diff of the two?

Two.....
The one one under the battery goes straight up into the bat compartment, the one nearer the fender goes straight up into the ECU. Mine was jammed up with leaves and bugs anyway.
