Checking The Dip Stick Today, No Pun, There Was Creamy Soapy Residue All Over It. Anyone Experience This Before, And Where Is It From?

 

Lots of short trips where engine oil temp doesn't get up to operating temp to where it can boil off condensation. Take the car out for a drive long enough to really get everything hot and it should go away. There were several threads on this some time back you may want to search out.

 

Yes a search on milky oil should get some hits.

 

Yep- happened to many of us last winter- as Dave mentioned there are many threads discussing it. Bottom line is that it's not a problem, and as the temp drops it becomes more noticable... and short trips make it worse. I haven't seen it since last march or so, but I expect to see some soon.
