prob lower the mileage some but great protection especially if it can withhold a diesel motor...i know of ppl using 20w50 in their 8's so 15w40 would not b bad just might take some mpg away

I have used 15W40 Castrol Tection Extra for Diesel before in RX-7s but have not tried it in the 8 yet.
Big advantage is that diesel oils are typically very very low in ash and cleaner burning that oils for standard automotive uses and still meets a SM certification rating.
Really I have not seen any big differences when opening up 13B engines that have used it vs regular oils.
