Here's Charles Hill holding my housings as he took my engine apart. You'll notice my housings are cleaner than either of the two photos for this oil

Engine had over 50,000 miles, with 20,000 on FI.

Mostly royal purple .. 10w30, 15w40, anything in that neighborhood.

Then Idemitsu with FP+ for premix.

I also have the Sohn Adapter, so that feeds 2 stroke royal purple synthetic and sometimes idemitsu with regular 5w20 dino oil in there.

after the engine teardown, I can see what I've been doing has worked well, so I will change absolutely nothing and continue with synthetic, premix, and sohn

I saw online on my fone at myrotarycar.com stock was running 178.4 hp, and 134.4 torque. My numbers were quite dismal with 148 hp to 128 torque. There is oil in my intake filter, but when i took out my intake filter i was still running consistant numbers. I was told to get a compression check done, but i was told it is probably not the case, i was also told that my CAT's could be bad and are impeding flow into my exhaust so i might need a whole new cat and a catback, but i am still not able to figure out how oil is going into my intake. Can anybody help me out? Tips? Advice? I ran synthetic in my car but i called up a mazda dealership nearby and they said "run regular oil, its a rotary, just run normal 5w-20" and i told them that one of their techs told me that i could run my car on regular but the guy at the dyno said just run premium, and that I'll get better curves and it'll unclog my injectors. Heres the low down on my car.

2004 Mazda RX8 6MT
stock, except for clutchmasters FX100 clutch.
Regular gas, and synthetic (which i plan on changing to regular)

Show us your dyno plot. But do it in one of the dyno threads. If your cat is clogged you'll see the hp die off above 6K rpm. If your engine is running normally you should see the power peak around 8K rpm. Ignition coils are another common problem that can lead to low power. Check out some of the other normal dyno graphs in the dyno threads and compare the curves to see if your curve is normal. If it is it's just the dyno itself.

everything was great. If anything was even slightly worn I would have wanted to replace it while it was apart.

the front bearing surprised the hell out of me when i tore mine down--on one side it was almost through the copper.
the characteristics found on your housings shows where some work canbe done.

Great thread.

What do you all think of Pennzoil High Mileage Vehicle oil in 5W-30 for the RX 8.

Pennzoil promises the following key benefits:
  • Active cleansing agents continuously help prevent
performance-robbing dirt and deposits from forming.
  • Increased viscosity and volatility control along with
seal conditioners to help lower oil consumption.
  • Special seal-conditioning additives help reduce leaks.
The thing I'm seeing here is a better additive package for seal conditioning.

That should be beneficial for the RX 8.

im sure this was already adressed but my first couple oil changes i went to the dealer but after about 2500 or less miles even the oil would break completly down and foam like a ****. i was told by people its because the high rev of the car so i switched to royal purp 5-30 and had limited to no foaming at 3500 with my reg oil change. **note this was before my new engine so idk if these probs with the foam were becasue of the motor defect causin it to blow**

Lol, I'm not asking for perfect punctuation. Just some punctuation.

Relax dude, it was just one lighthearted joke. Now you've been absolutely nasty twice. I'm glad you found some tips on self esteem; now Google up some advice on civility.

Nobody expects you to be an English expert. But you should show at least a little respect for the people you are writing for. Don't make them do all the work of figuring out where your sentences start and stop.

Anyway, sorry for upsetting you. Put the premix in right before you put in the gas. The flow of gas will begin to mix it.
