Have any of you guys experienced this? I have a 05 6 speed with 80k, no problems and never had any problems like this before.

It was the weirdest thing, I was on my way to exchange a bad battery in my RX-8. As i was going through the gears, I was going from 3rd to 4th gear, then couldn't get it into gear, then tried to put it back into 3rd, couldn't go back into 3rd gear. Coasted to a Walmart parking lot and sat there trying to put the car into any gear, nothing .... i was locked out of the shift gates.

The clutch had full pressure too, it didn't flop to the floor or anything. I shut the car off,turned it back on,still could not get the car into gear. Turned it off , then put the car into 1st gear then started her up. That did the trick! After that I could shift fine ......

I changed out the battery and I noticed the car shifted even smoother, is this even possible? Is our transmissions monitered by a sensor or hooked up to the computer? Could a bad battery cause hard shifts?I am thinking no to this one, but you never know with these new cars with everything being hooked up or monitered or run by the computer.

 

If it doesn't fit, force it.



No but really, I used to be locked out of reverse when turning the car on. Eventually it went in, I just had to mess with different angles a while.

 

there is something wrong with ur tranny. or ur clutch lines, or ur brake fluid, or it could be ur clutch line leaking, or it could be master cylinder not good, etc.

U should have it check.
