The hell you say... I learned this yesterday while sitting at a drivethrough for a good 15 minutes. Air temp over 95 degrees F, but fans not on. Had my window rolled down, 'cause I didn't want to sit at idle for so long w/ the A/C running. But finally got tired/hot/pissy, and turned on the A/C. As soon as I did, I heard the fan kick on. Thought that was an odd sound, so I turned the A/C off immediately. Whaddya' know, the fan turned off immediately. Cycled it several more times, then grinned, 'cause w/ the fan on, I still got ice-cold A/C, sitting at idle.

Only reason I noticed this so well is, my 2002 Nissan Frontier A/C does virtually nothing when I'm sitting at idle, 'cause the fan doesn't kick on at all. It sucks!

I cannot recommend highly enough the Mazsport Cooling Fan Mod - I have had it for 1.5 years and it works great. While it will not actually increase your maximum cooling capacity, it will get the most out of it and will keep you average engine temperature much lower during normal operating conditions.
both my fan always kicks on when I turn the AC on.

After buying it, in my humble opinion there's nothing left to think about. It really is one of the best and cheapest things you can do to protect your car.

Getting the accessport means you can increase omp flow rates, which I consider far more important for engine longevity. You also get to adjust the radiator fans to kick on at any temp, with any speed you desire. So no need to cut into hoses and no need to be locked into one fan setting.

he also said best AND cheapest.

if you get this, then you've wasted your money if you get the AP for OMP rate increase. So you have to decide if you ever plan to get the AP for that statement to be valid.

Remember, the engine was designed to operate at temps higher than 190F. We only use the fan speed increase to treat a symptom, it doesn't resolve the problem, which is heat soak and overheating. Once the vehicle gets too hot, it can take a long to cool off. So we try to keep it away from that point to stave off problems. It doesn't increase the cooling capabilities of the vehicle, it just increases the buffer between "operating temp" and "overheating" by causing the vehicle to run cooler than designed. It will not increase engine life unless your car is getting overheated on a regular basis before the mod, and assuming the increased buffer is enough to keep the car from overheating afterwards. If you're in AZ or LV and overheat before, you're likely to overheat after as you're using the same exact fan/radiator before as after.

So like I said, OMP > Fan speed. AP gets you both. Plus power.

but the cooling fan mod holds its value, so when you do want to buy an AP you can sell it off and make a cool $80 bucks on the mod to put towards the AP!

surprised you didn't say 'Plus power and economy.'

MS Cooling Fan 3 Relay

Rythmic, don't delay and pick one up now!

So can anyone confirm what the Cooling Fan 3 relay is for?
If I'm not mistaken, I believe that is the relay that turns both fans on high. Cooling fan 1 and 2 just turn the 2 fans on low speed.

While it may have been valid info, you bumped a three year old thread for your very first post.
