having some issues with my RX8. Couple of days ago as i was driving, car started bogging out on me, i had it into first and second gear mostly because where i was it was alot of stop and start. Ended up getting where i needed to go and didnt think much of it(stupid me) ended up leaving and as i was driving the engine shut off on me. it bogged a few times then just stopped. i managed to get it started again and got it home where it shut off on me again. When pulling the codes it says "fuel is rich" and talks about the o2 sensor. im thinking that its just clogged or bad? Last week we changed the coils, spark plugs, wiring, as well as put in a new upgraded starter and new redtop optima battery. the car idles really well until the o2 sensor opens up then it flux's back and fourth and putting it into gear the car will just shut off again. any idea? i ordered a new 02 sensor so well see if that helps, any other info will really help thanks!

 

Replace the sensor and see what happens with the Fueltrims...if they are still too rich look elsewhere. The car should run with it disconnected fairly well.. in open loop though..so try that as a diagnostic

 

we were also thinking it could be the cat or maybe the IAC. its a heartbreak because i really like this car, its just givin me so many issues, but ill update after i replace the front 02 sensor

 

btw info on my car its a 2004, automatic. it has an after market cat and headers and exhaust(all done from the owner before me) it has 86k miles on it
