Sorry guys if this a repost but i have been searching for days and i cant get a straight answer!

I have a JDM 2003 RX8 and my recent CEL reads P0353 ignition coil C using OBD-II scanner. Which coil is C of the four coils? Any ideas?

Didn't know the ecu could pick that up

sub'd and bump .. anyone?

I would suggest buying HEI Coil Tester and testing all the Coils.

OBD2 parameter descriptions are industry standard and their level of detail does not pertain to all vehicles.

Not to mention on this car, if one coil is on its way out, they all are in need of a good checking.

 

I ordered these from ebay which seemed to be the originals and all four codes P0351, P0352, P0353 and P0354 came up. Took them off and put the originals and got just one code again, I wonder why all four error codes came up.

I believe you need version A

All genuine (what Mazda had made) works on ALL RX-8's

 

Should be perfect...

When you replace your Coils just make sure you reinstall everything in the exact same order...(if you did not already know)...power to coils (wiring plugs),coils and spark plug leads to spark plugs (leading and trailing).

 

Thank very much for the info and links! There seems to be a problem with non original coils or later edition coils with the JDM version of the Rx8 since it has a different ECU from the Euro or US version.
