Question Clutch master/release cylinder

My clutch is failing on me.
I am at the point of ordering a clutch master cylinder and a clutch release cylinder at Mazda.

Can anyone give me tips about things my mechanic should think of when he is gone do the repair?
Any tips on what is the best to order and where???

Rick

why are you replacing the Clutch Master Cylinder ?

Clutch Release cylinder? I assume you're talking about the Slave Cylinder.

Both parts, there is no point to replace it unless it already failed, which hardly happens. (I was one of the unlucky one thats all)

clutch

Thanks for your answer!! My clutch stays down on the ground when i push it down with my foot. I have to pull it up again with my feet.
So i assume the slave- and or mastercylinder have to be replaced???

There is a spring that should should be pulling your clutch pedal back up from the floor. This would obviously be the first thing to check as even badly failing clutch hydraulics wouldn't cause the pedal to stay on the floor.

ok guys i am having the a problem shifting into gears, i looked at my clutch pedal and saw that there was oil coming out of the pedal, i called and talked to a person that works on my car and he said the clutch master cylinder is failing...... should i replace the slave as well at the same time? also what else should or could i replace at the same time?

and where would be the best place to buy it?

thanks

First you should start a new thread.

Then you should replace the master and inspect the slave. Some say to replace both because if the master is failing the slave typically isn't far behind. But I don't like replacing parts that aren't already failing.
