1) To attach it, click on the 'Go Advanced' button below the message box.
2) Then click on the paper clip icon and a Manage Attachments window pops-up.
3) Click 'Choose File', navigate to where your picture is, click on the file and click 'Open'.

Sorry for the late replay... got called out to repair something at work...

I had a chance to look at the pics you sent.
They were a little blurry, but it does appear the white plunger is pushed in further than it should.
Here is a pic I took when our locals took their's off when we had our pedal assemblies welded:


You can see how each one is a different length and how far out it can be.
I recall it took a little "tug" to pull the plunger out... so maybe you weren't pulling hard enough.
Obviously, don't put too much muscle into it if it doesn't appear like its going to budge.

That worked great man, thanks for all your help! WHen I took the switch off, I gave it a couple good pulls and it did nothing. So I was like, oh well, if I break it, Ill take the wifes car and go get a new one. Gave it a really good pull and then it finally gave. Put it back in and it readjusted itself. Starts every time now. Thanks again man!

It's always a bitch when you reach that point of saying "Oh well, I'm gonna go for it and either break it or fix it".

It's a fifty-fifty shot sometimes as you know. At least you got all the info you could first before just went for it. That was a good move.

I installed the reinforced pedal yesterday. I went for the pre-assembled reinforced new OEM pedal from Race Roots since I didn't feel confident of pre-welding my torn-apart old pedal before installing a brace.

Installation was a pain (by Mazda's design and screw locations), but the result is more than rewarding. My RX-8 shifted never as smooth as now. I always had the feeling of the clutch not disengaging completely, even with a well-adjusted and full depressed pedal. Now that all the bad elasticity is elided from the system, shifting is smooth like butter...

Highly recommended!

can we pull that, white plunger completely to overwrite the sensor, so that we don't have to step on the clutch every time we start the car?

Why would you want to pull the neutral safety switch? I highly doubt you would be able to do that on a computer controlled car. I dont have a NSS on my 69 Camaro, but thats not computer controlled. You can try and undo the harness off the pedal and try to start it....

I'm sure it can be done, thats what they have to do when you get a remote start in a manual isnt it? Although I always thought it was a bad plan as every now and then you hear about the guy who forgot he left it in first and ends up watching his car start and plow into something.

So my clutch pedal bracket broke but its still drivable it just moves a little to the right. I want to get it fixed and not driving it currently and I'm looking for the BHR or Mazsport Clutch Pedal bracket Assembly but when I go to their sites they don't show anything.

Do you guys have a link of where it is? Very much appreciated. Thanks.

To be honest, I'm not sure Ray and the boys at BHR are still doing the clutch as I didn't seem to find it either. You used to send them your clutch and they would weld it and send it back if I remember correctly. At one time they were sending out re-enforced ones and you would send your broken one in, but I believe they got burned enough times by a-holes not sending the cores, that they quit. Correct me if I'm wrong somebody.

Well, I searched for awhile before i posted and i saw ones for BHR and Mazsport but the only product that comes up was Race Roots. so I'm guessing they don't do it anymore like you said.

Has anyone sent in their own OEM broken Clutch Pedal Bracket and got it back and worked perfectly? No sense in spending $95 when they said they can fix it.

Mazsport is no longer in business. I don't know that BHR ever fixed an already broken assy. They would weld a good one to keep it from breaking. PM Charles R Hill (BHR) and see what he can do for you. You can also contact Mazmart and get a good used part.

There won't be any problem using a rebuilt/reinforced pedal. Many people have simply welded the brackets back together as a repair. I do not recommend welding the bracket as a repair without reinforcing it. This issue has been discussed to death.

s0o i this mornin i pressed on the clutch n it wouldnt come back up. After readin this thread I thought that the bracket was broken. I had it towed to the mazda dealer since there is a bulletin for the bracket and they cover all costs.

Guy just called me nd says tht it mite not be the bracket that it probably has to do something w/ the slave cylinder????

I think this guy is Bullshittin, idk any ideas or comments would be appreciated

The bracket is the weakest link but is certainly not the only failure mode.
Some people have had failures of the master or slave cylinders.
Best thing to do is inspect the clutch bracket; take a photo from the foot well in macro mode with flash. We'll let you know quickly.
Or you could just remove it and see if it's broken

yeaa the mazda dealer called me n they said that the slave cylinder is leaking n it has to be replaced n tht im better off replacing the master cylinder as well... ugghhh this blowss. their cost is ova $400

Not to throw crap on the pile but make sure they check the pedal for cracks around the bolts.

When my clutch bracket went broke the clutch still worked mostly, as long as u kept everything moving smoothely on it, the main problem was that it wiggles and cracked when you pushed it in. You would have to look at it yourself to know for sure because for all you know there is absolutely nothin wrong with the car and the dealer just wants more money... but i am very against dealers so i would say that. It sounds like it could very well be the slave cylendar. I had a 350Z that did the same thing, the clutch went in and never came back out. Cost several hundred dollars but when it was all said and done they just replaced the pivot ball on the inside of the transmission. So in all reality you never know but unless you can fix it yourself then honestly the only thing you can do is trust the dealer. My 8's CEL came on and everyone in town that i asked if they had anyone to work on a rotary said "Good luck with that". So its not easy to find people who will even touch the car!
