Wadup guys.

I need some more sound out of my RX8 since i am used to B&B exhaust but have sold it now.

What are the disadvantages of removing the CAT and is it easy to remove/put back

Thanks,

You're not getting many posts because its been covered a thousand times. Disadvantages would be your no longer legal to drive around like that, a strong gas smell, cannot pass inspection, there are probably more. As long as you have the right tools it should be pretty easy to swap back to your oem cat when needed.

The swap takes me about an hour of actual work time to do alone and is quite easy. If you do it often enough, or have an easier time moving around under a car then I do, you could probably get it done much quicker. It's just 5 bolts, 1 exhaust hanger and 1 electrical connection for the O2 sensor. In the US you won't pass emissions in any state without your CAT, but the laws in Norway might be much different.

The laws in Norway are way more strict than US , trust me on that one.

However my 8 is in Pakistan right now (dont make the location a big deal)

No one gives a crap about emissions there , 2 stroke rickshaws running rich polluting the crap out of everything so , it wouldn't make any difference.

The thing i want to ask is that are there any risks for fire etc? because the car will shoot some flames on higher rpms wont it?

Yes the dissassembly is pretty simple.

As long as you slap a Midpipe in there you will be fine. You will pop flames quite often and depending on your cat back you might melt some parts but no fires. Biggest risk of fire is when you pop flames while standing still.
