Link to the post or it's so.

Jon316G has already posted that a group 35 fit with no mods.

I think you mean the person in posts 5,6 and 18: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-aftermarket-performance-modifications-23/optima-red-top-batteries-151027/

If you look at the pic he uploaded (post 17), you will see he really went with a group 35. Not sure why he kept refering to it as a 35R.

The battery itself will not say R or not.

Its the model number that tells you what exactly it is.

I cant find that picture anymore. probably hosted off site.

oh well

bizarre story ........ maybe it was a cheap knock-off you saw .

Optima 34Rs (they also make a 34) have nice big 34R raised lettering next to one of the posts, and I bet the label clearly says 34R, just like the pics posted here say model 35 on the label and have raised letter 35 next to the negative post.

They also have a 34R in the "Model #" field.

"Part #'s" are vendor specific and have nothing to do with the size.

I also noticed I get a really poor mpg. I get around ~150 miles on a tank.

I've got new plugs, new wires and new coils, new air filter.

So I'm wondering if I'm getting misfires, or if something else is wrong like a bad cat ?

What do I need to read codes from the ecu and is there a way to test the cat ?

Hmm, if I could avoid buying a device ...
Will they pull the codes for me at an autozone? I've heard somewhere that they weren't doing that anymore.

Is there something I could do myself to test if my cat converter is ok ? (with not much knowledge, and even less tools)
