car running like crap
ok first off, i have an 04 6MT GT. coils plugs and wires all replaced around 5000km's ago
while on a long road trip yesterday and all was well until about 3hrs into it when my car started acting funny. power loss and just 'bogging' out and stalling. even if i gave it gas it would just keep dropping in RPM's.
after this it through a cel. they ended up being
P0171 System too lean ON 2 Fuel system ´ (See DTC P0171 ) x2
P0302 Rear rotor misfire detected Flash/ON 1 or 2 Misfire
now i've done a bit of reading and found that some people fixed this by cleaning the MAF. so i went ahead and cleaned away. didn't seem to change anything.
now i've also heard that it could be fuel pump related?
any input would be great and quite stress relieving... hopefully lol
thanks in advance people

would a clogged cat give these problems/issues?
my cat was a bit clogged before so i used the DIY and banged out the 1 portion of the cat to make it 'high-flow' i guess. and seemed to work. but i was thinking maybe the 2nd portion became clogged aswell? thus messing with the front heated o2 sensor causing it to run lean?

Power!!
I don't think you get misfires from a clogged cat. you typically get no top end power. Like it runs fine and dies off at 5-6K rpms.
It sounds like it could be fuel pump/filter related since your ignition is fairly new. The dealer may have suggestions on how to clean the filter without breaking the pump.

i just figured it may have something to do with a clogged cat since i looked at the engine diagnostics & control manual and found that for my p0171 cel code it asks if there was also a misfire code. if yes than goto step 8 and it asks if there is exhaust leak. if there was an an exhaust leak it says to fix and goto step 24, if no than check the front H02S.
i figured having a clogged cat may mess with the front HO2S since the hot air couldn't escape quick enough it may have melted the sensor along with the rest of the cat.
just trying to make clear what i had in mind.

Power!!
It's easy enough to check. crawl underneath, unbolt the two spring loaded bolts, then unbolt the 3 bolts at the front of the cat and look inside. It will look melted if it's clogged.

As the MAF already cleaned, try to unplug the battery. If the next start is the same, then should be either the pump or the pulsation thing on the fuel rail. BTW, check the connectors on the fuel injectors, just for in case.

^What he said: reset the PCM's "learned behavior" and see what happens. Can't hurt.
Could also be a bad O2 sensor, bad compression, or as others have said some problem with fuel delivery (fuel pump, injector problem, etc). Being a used 04', I would get a compression test done first before spending a lot of time messing around with other stuff (assuming you didn't have one done before you bought it).

*sigh* heard back from the shop today and they told me that they cuoldn't get the car to start so they are ordering new plugs yet the ones that are in there are almost brand new.
also they neglected to check anything that i asked them too. (cat, o2 sensors, fuel system)
would any of these 3 problems i told them to check stop the car from starting? or cause it to hard start

Good that they found it. Although that shouldn't keep your engine from starting.
they can check the fuel pump first to see if it's running at all (fuse in, fuse out) and then second they can pull a fuel line and see if fuel comes out when they run the pump.
