hey all, the 8 is my first car purchase, and i'd really like to take care of it. all i know to do is change my oil every 5K miles, and i know there's lots of other things i should do for my 8 to keep it in great shape. can someone provide me with their maintenance schedule including details like what type of oil you use for the oil changes...

Follow the maintenance schedule in the owners manual if you want to keep the warranty valid.

 

Amazing first car purchase! Wish my first car was an 8 Hey, read the car's manual....all maintenance info is in there. However, I usually change the oil/filter more regularly than stated in the manual. Dino or syn oil is your call, but as long as you change your oil every 3k miles or less then dino will do just fine. Depends on many things....how you drive the car, the weather/temp, etc. but oil changes are cheap and rotaries like frequent oil changes. Keep your car clean and have a read through the many posts in this forum on your topics of interest....enjoy the ride dude!

 

What people said above. My only advice to give is don't kill the engine cold.

 

I agree. Oil changes every 3000 mi., which is more often than the owner manual states but well worth the extra $$ you spend. Keep up on oil changes, keep her clean, drive her often and you should be ok
