Question Can I make the "beep" sound louder??

I had a go on the rev limit and found the "beep" that my RX8 has is not very loud.

I search the manual there is no way that can be adjusted easily. Anyone know how to/whether it can be adjusted?

I guess the local RX8 dealer service will know...

Many people would like to have it louder too. Not much progress though, I remember reading an earlier thread the the buzzer is buried deep in the dash..

I noticed the same thing and was into the red before I noticed the warning tone. I practicing a few times going up to 8500 where the tone first comes on. Now I hear the warning evey time so I must have trained my ears:D

Do you mean it goes louder when it comes closer to the rev limit? Sound like we need a loud speaker to the warning tone!

Hi, the warning tone starts at 8500 and does not change loudness. I have gone to maybe 9300 (if the tach is accurate) and the tone just stays the same. What is happening for me is I am more aware of the sound. At high revs there is a lot of other noise but my mind and hearing is now looking for the warning so I notice it more. I think the low volume is because previous Mazda rotaries had too loud a warning. Would be nice if there was some adjustment though

That is true.. you don't want to cover the lovely 9000 rpm noise of the Renesis engine

The answer to your beeper was posted by canzoomer a while back i also had the same thoughts as you, increase the settings to make the beeper louder.
The buzzer is a peizo electric buzzer, 5volt unit , the way to increase volume is to get to the unit which invvoves removing the dashboard and either increasing the voltage on the existing unit or replacing it with a bigger louder one. ( higher voltage unit)
The hard work to get to the buzzer hardly justifies the 1 hour job to find and replace the buzzer.

Unless you have performed this type of operation before IMO best left alone.

Have a passenger beside you, once you hear screaming for you to slow down, you'd probably had hit 9500rpm
