Can it be fixed?

Don't ask me how, but when I was getting out of the 8 tonight, I somehow got my foot caught on the hood release lever. It made a pop sound and when I looked, it was hanging loose. I jiggled on it and it fell off along with a little spring.

I looked and it doesnt appear to have broken the plastic, but it was dark and I won't know for sure til tomorrow.

If the plastic didnt break, how do I reattach the spring/lever back onto the cable that pops my hood? Is there a certain way the spring is supposed to go?

It is pretty easily removable, so I expect that it will pop back in sans any breakage. It is just spring loaded and held in place that way. I will slid back in. The orientation is obvious in the light.
