Budget Engine Rebuild? what's needed?
Budget Engine Rebuild? what's needed?
My engine is fine. however i would like to know a few things.
i did search but couldn't find any exact answers even used google.
What is needed for a budget rebuild?
Apex seals & Springs?
side & corner seals?
That's about all i found out?
Would that alone boost my compression?
I have about $1,000 set aside to order to total rebuild kit from atkins whenever
i need 2.
Just trying to find out what more i need? as far as specialty tools?
bearings for the rotor?

Dude, why don't you just read. There are a ton of resources on rebuilding rotaries. No one can tell you exactly what you need without pulling the motor apart and seeing the internals.
There is no budget rebuild, you either do it right or you do it half assed.

by budget i do not mean $300.00
like i stated above i have money set aside for the full rebuild kit.
is that half ***? if so let atkins rotary no not me.
i was wanting to no what else was needed?
once again forum police come to ruin it lol.

I know what Atkins kit has but depends on which kit you're getting you might still end up with a 1/2 assed rebuild.
I will lol even more when I see you post "OMG ENGINE #$@#$!)@89"

Spoon fed?
I could not find 1 thread that mentioned Rotor Bearings in rebuild?
a lot of the threads don't even say fly wheel socket.
Etc. There were things i could not find.
I work and am busy. I don't have time to sit here on computer unlike you MR.16,000 Posts

how long does it take to post really? lets see hmm oh yeah I've been on this forum for like 5-6 yrs. so yea. not that hard to do.
thx for telling me how useless you are.
oh yea I forgot I gotta do this ... wait for it .... wait for it ... SEARCH
Look man, you are getting no where and no one here is going to spoon feed you. And your wasting your time arguing when the information is easily available. There are a few Renesis tear down builds around where bearing wear is a topic of discussion. A budget of $1,000.00 won't get you **** and an Atkins rebuild kit is only part of the equation if you need new housings, irons, bearings, rotors, etc. You need knowledge on the basics of what it takes to rebuild a rotary engine, jumping into it half assed will only cost you way more in the long run. Why don't you start off by getting a proper compression test done at Mazda.
I've tried to explain the way this site works, obviously you are not listening to what we told you in the SARX lounge.
I agree man like i said i searched more and found more.
just got tired of using my phone so posted a thread.
some stuff i found was on some archive and hard to read on my phone.
Oh!! And yea? try 84-94 hour work weeks in Encinal on a hot *** oil rig?
not bragging either. just saying.
And since your signature says ( ask) btw i need some ( mazda tools ) lol

Ok, you seems to be a cool dude, my apology.
the info is out there, if for some reason you can't find it, you can try to find them on google, most of the rx7 information applies to the rx8 too, the engine is pretty much the same (parts are sorta different in size but it runs the same with similar wear at the same area), so u can check that as well.
what kind of Mazda tool u need ? I rent them out for a really small fee + deposit (I sell the fuel pump tool tho) Only thing I don't rent is the compression tester, hohohoho ~

Anything that isn't "mentioned" on this site is probably because the factory service manual contains a majority of the information necessary. Repeating it here is a waste of time for everyone when Mazda has already provided information such as the need for a flywheel socket.
As mentioned, there is no stereotypical "budget" build list. Once you have the motor taken apart you'll need to examine all the parts to determine if they fall within Mazda's tolerances. If not, they must be replaced.
You're not going to know what parts you need until the motor is broken down and examined.

the one I got is the "real deal" from Mazda, not some home-made tester sold for 2-300 bux.
if you have to ask, free feel to give any Mazda dealership a call and give them this number, 49f0-18-9A0D, you will not be able to find this number in any of the trademotion database(online), the dealership have to access their tools ordering page to get it.

budget means you can't afford the special tools to do it yourself
