i don't know if the damper put too much weight on it, or if the bolt was weakened because of use, but it broke off the first time i closed the hood. i purchased it used.



this happened during a test fit, so it was only finger tight. does anyone know where i can find another one? it seems to be a fairly universal piece, but where should i try?

 

Have u tried to contact Tein about it ?

skip the you got it used part. Tell them your thing broke, any replacements ?

 

i hear the only place you can get this is from tein in japan. It takes a while. but i think all the dampers have the same. maybe another manufacturer can sell you one of theirs.

 

i'll call tein right now and see what happens.

i got a few other ball joints, or whatever their called, but the thread is too large. i'll try to machine one down and see if it works. trunk dampeners sometimes use the same thing. i might drive around to some dealerships and see what they have too.

Most of the time you can get small parts like that for free.

I called and got the part number. i sent them an email and am waiting for a response. i might have to get it shipped overnight to make it for the car show on saturday... just what i need, a 20 dollar bolt. lol
