Broken stud on the housing

I was changing my water pump and while installing it , I over torqued the nut and broke one of the studs on the housing.

I cant seem to get the broken stud off so i am wondering if there is no leaking from the water pump , can i just leave the broken stud there?

No, remove the stud and replace it, no big deal.

after fixing so many cars, I sorta developed the "feel" for the right torque spec, and adjust the distance of my hand on the ratchet accordingly.

and I will use Torque wrench only when it's something more important like engine build.

oh the proper spec is 13.8-18.8 ft lbs, that's for brand new bolts btw, so if u are re-using it(most likely), I would say 15 lbs is more than enough.
