Broken iron where transmission screw goes

Hello, I broke the iron where the transmission screw goes on the side where the oil filter is at. I wasnt even tightening it that much and the thread where the screw goes completely came off! it broke completely off! it didn't damage the oil filter. there is just a hole now into the flywheel. should i be concerned?

Thank you!

Well, The bolt helps to hold the transmission and engine in place, so it is important.

I don't know how you even broke it ...

I'm 90% sure you overtorque it. "I thought I wasn't even tightening it that much" doesn't mean ****.

Buy a new iron and buy a torque wrench and a factory manual with the torque specs...

it is very easy to break that off when tightening that bolt.. mazda even has a warning notice attatched to all the engines they ship... if the trans and engine arent completely seated it will snap off...

That's why it's better to mate the Tranny and Engine first and drop BOTH into the car at the same time

if you can't, then yep u gotta make 100% sure it's flush before you try to torque it down.

I forgot the exact spec of the torque, but it should be something like 10 15 lbs or so
