see. if you had sold that to me, with my flywheel. i would have bought it. my scale says its just shy of 12lbs though. but im sure its not that accurate. i was more concerned about the difference between that and the stock pp. which is indeed heavier.

get a pic of the stock up.

i just realized, that the scale that i measured with SHOULD be accurate. since your flywheel measured in at just around 9lbs.

so maybe they redesigned their pp? what does that scale say the stock pp weighs?

the clutch i put in weighs ~1lb heavier than stock. act 4 puck.

and the install.. was a bitch. to put it simply. i had help from my friends dad (if i were to ever pick a dad, it would probably be him.) and carbonrx8, without whose help (and tools) i probably would not have completed it.

but, 2 steps forward, 1 step back! or 2 steps back. really.

1. i flooded the car. that took a while to undo.

2. my car no longer idles. i have a feeling it has to do with the accordion tube i no longer have in my car. with the tubes being taped off. i poked a hole in the tape to get some air, and it made no difference. and at least one tube is a vacuum tube. you can see it pulling the tape into it, or hold your finger to it and feel it.

i held the gas down at 2-3k rpm for about 10 minutes to warm it up, so it wouldnt flood again. then tried to drive around to let it relearn the trims. no luck.

i really need to get an accordion tube or some tube to stick in there for a while. and due to a snafu with shipping around CAIs, i wont get mine until i ship off to the Marines. so...

im SOL.

well, that would explain not being able to hold idle.

I feel a little bad that you had to do this whole job yourself! If you didnt have such a tight schedule, we could have organized it so that I could have come over or you could have done the job in my garage. I am glad to have played the role of remote consultant, tho. Having done this myself three times now, twice on jackstands, I have to say I am impressed with your wrenching skillz.

Are you going to bring the car over so that I can see what you are describing with the intake? I cant quite picture what is going on. I bet CRH is right. Too much unmetered air

I counted up the texts and phone calls over the last three days. All told, over 100! lol.

Gimme my tools back!

Are you still selling the BHR/SPEC clutch/PP? Last I heard it was "temporarily on hold." I'm very much interested in decreasing rotational inertia, especially on the transmission side.

It would certainly change launching a bit... could be a bit much for a daily driven car, that's for sure.

My interest in the lightweight clutch/PP is actually to help reduce the workload the synchros are forced to endure. The stock flywheel isn't exactly a boat anchor; whether or not to get a lighter one is going to come down to driver preference.

2) The jet-air nozzles prevent fuel from puddling on the bottom of the intake ports and having that hose plugged defeats their purpose.

Without embarrassing Kersh too much, there is a WHOLE 'NOTHER LEVEL of issue going on with his intake. I had to chuckle a bit (a lot) when I saw his work-in-progress. I wanted to beg him to post a pic of his intake. Be that as it may, let us just say that duct-taping an intake to the throttle body is less than optimal. Particularly when said tape isn't actually sticking to anything except the A/C duct acting as his ram air or whatever, that is holding the MAF sensor literally an inch away from the butterfly valve. God, he is going to kill me for disclosing this. I think he has it undercontrol tho. At least he should after he gets back from OCS, or whatever he is doing. Good luck, dude.

I will say that, after driving his car, I really miss the way the NA car builds and builds to redline. And I also like the clutch. 4 puck but with a sprung center. I will definitely be going in that direction next time I change my clutch.

Precise and sharp. Like a razor's edge. Funny, but I was going to go 6-puck back when I switched out my clutch, but was steered clear. I would recommend this setup to anyone.

Amazing that most people will settle for vague and uninspiring to avoid having to actually use a little skill when moving your left foot up and down. Maybe I am being a little to harsh.

I would say that a solid center might be just a little too aggressive.

I just stopped in a performance shop this afternoon (An innovate motorsports dealer). A sign behind the counter said something like:

"Do you want your car to handle like stock?
Do you want your car to idle like stock?
Do you want your car to be as quiet as stock?
.
.
.
Et cetra.

If you answered any of these questions "Yes!" there's the door. Dont let it hit you on the way out."

I lol'ed.
