Break-in question
After my first motor finally went out at 140k, I'm getting my car back tomorrow with a reman and I was wondering... Does a remanufactured engine have a break-in period like a new motor? I've been informed the rotors and housings are new.

My last thread you told me 90% of new housings and irons were new.... Either way, engines in and there's no turning back now. So is there a break-in for remans, regardless of the builder?

Yes - break it in the same way you'd break in a new motor. Even if the rotors and housings aren't new, you've got new seals and new bearings. Those deserve a break in.

builder = big role in engine rebuild process.
well its in now no turning back. u don't have to do much special during break in, dont drive the crap out of it for the first 1K miles, change ur oil after 50 miles cuz it's going to look like complete crap(consider it has all the engine assembly lube or whatever they use at the plant, plus other extra silicone that might end up in the pan, etc)
then 1-200 miles, then 1K, then change it regularly
