If there is any element to this stuff of which I am particularly proud, it's the fact that most of what I am doing is in rather uncontrolled environments and situations. Remember, all this work was done with fewer than 50 lbs. of hand tools in a checked bag when I flew to FL. Further, we had a single overhead flourescent fixture and halogen desk lamp as our only sources of light at night. I even re-installed the UIM pretty much in the dark. It's not that I am a particularly intellectual guy about this stuff, it's simply that I refuse to give up due to lack of a few "conveniences".
luck of conveniences? I was under the impression that it was simply your preferred way of doing things.
Why didn't you just ask for more light?

I thought the high tech portion was me trying to mop the coolant mixed with oil from under the car, before we install the motor back in. That, and the impressive work i pulled there with the pressure washer...

The rebuild came out to be awesome!
The motor is now running with almost a bar of boost.
