Best price for Spark Plugs....

The best I have found is $103.80 shipped for all 4 plugs at http://shop.car-engine-parts.com/

Anyone know of a better price?

how does $20 each grab you?

http://www.sparkplugs.com/more_info....6844&pid=17362

http://www.sparkplugs.com/more_info....6844&pid=17361

note: you have to buy at least 4 plugs total or you may get charged a higher price for a "partial" box, they can mixed and matched i.e. 2 leading and 2 trailing comes to 79.80 plus shipping (have to add tax for the Republic of Kaliformia, that's were they ship from)

I'm a bit about the parts http://shop.car-engine-parts.com/ is offering for the RX-8.
There are parts like a Cylinder Head Gasket Set for the 1990-1995 Mazda RX8 or a valve stem seal.

Very interesting parts for a rotary!

What car is the 1990-1995 Mazda RX8?

My only question is: How many miles do you have that you're replacing the plugs already?

Did you note that these leading plugs are RE7A-L (2 Mazda recommendations ago), not RE7C-L (current recommendation - redesign)?

Indy 8...what is the current mazda recommendation now for leading and trailing plugs? Do you know the NGK part # for both? And where did you find this info? Seems I saw this in a bulletin or TSB somewhere, but cant find it now. Thanks

hey raadracer
go in the TSB thread and then the sparkplugs info and they have the new ones listed. It seems the leading plug is a differant design. still iridium but my contact tells me it fires differantly.

It's on page 11 of Bulletin No. 01-004/05 (Jan 20, 2005).

http://www.finishlineperformance.com...07-05-1432.pdf

NGK RE7C-L (leading)
NGK RE9B-T (trailing)

"Redesigned" leading have grooves in base.

For me, seemed like change improved smoothness. But this change was concurrent with other things such as re-flash, etc. Previously, my car had been flooded by "used car handlers" and the plugs treated in a manner not consistent with recommended repair procedures.

Well, I'll find out, I just bought a set of the Denso's for my car (Leading & Trailing are one heat range colder than stock).

Page 11?. There's only 3 pages to that TSB ...

you could also call or email sparkplug.com about the leading plug change, it should be the same price

however, Mazda is still selling the "A" plug so I don't think they've made it a complete sweeping change for all RX-8's

It is in the one entitled, "Engine Cranks - No Start". (Maybe the link was wrong.) This one has 13 pages. The spark plug info is on page 11.

This is the recommendation for "leading" (7C) to address flooding, hard start, rough idle, etc. You'll recall the first revision to the recommendation for leading was to go to heat range 6 to help those various problems. That turned out to be a stop gap measure to suffice until a purpose designed plug was available. That turns out to be the 7C.

If your car is perfect and has no issues, then by all means use 7A. When they launched the car, they obviously did not foresee that they would be on the third recommended spark plug in the first year and a half. Thus the 7A's sit in many parts inventories waiting to be sold.
