CA Battery won't charge

Have a 2006 with 6000 miles on it--needless to say it has been garaged alot. Had a problem with the battery running down, of course, and it would get charged and run just fine for abour a week, then it would go dead. We have replaced the battery twice now but it will only run for about a week. I am assuming the alternator is not working but I did take it in to the local garage and they could not find a problem (not a Mazda garage). Anyone else have this problem??
Thanks

Yes, I'm blonde, but, no I am not leaving anything on or open.....wouldn't there be a warning light if the alternator is not working? I am getting no warning lights--the battery is just getting sucked dry. The auto parts store even gave us a new battery because they hadn't seen one this dry. I'd appreciate any info before I have to take it to the Mazda shop--it's far away and probably will be expensive...
Thanks

Get the battery tested. I bet you need a new battery.

He might be in that direction already. But, he said he had it replaced twice and a new one would last him only a week.

There's a lot of things that could be going wrong. For one you said you keep your car garaged a lot, long term or short term? About your battery, you could have gotten a bad battery because they don't just dry out by themselves quickly for no reason unless its got a leak. You might have a problem with your wires causing your battery to get too hot and burning it out. If it's not hding s charge it's either a parasitic drain somewhere or your alternator isn't doing it's job. Work your way down the line before you go out and buy unneeded parts

get the alternator checked out for free at an Autozone, Advanced autoparts. You can also go to Mazda and they will check it for you for free.

I would get a second option on the alternator.
